Colin Seeley (right) accepts cheque from NOC’s Barry Owen

They can of course do with it what they will, but when Martin Maynard and Peter White received their cheques, they both chose to donate them to the Joan Seeley Pain Relief Fund, which is now in its 33rd year, and has done sterling work over those years supplying much needed equipment to many hospitals and specialist units. Colin Seeley was on hand to receive the donation from the NOC’s Barry Owen, at the Stafford Show.

This year the NOC International Rally will be in the UK, at Skipton RFC, Skipton, Yorkshire over July 6-9. On Saturday there are two rideout options, to the Yorkshire Dales, taking in the Ribblehead Viaduct and Emsay Heritage Railway. In the evening there will be a hog roast (other meal options available) and jazz band. On Sunday the rideouts will be repeated to experience both routes, then awards will take place. See www.nortonownersclub.org or call Bruce Senior on 01924 522928.

Elsewhere the Girder Fork and Classic MCC holds its annual open bike night on June 6 at Steeton Hall Hotel, Steeton, West Yorks, between Keighley and Skipton. There are concours classes for just about every type of two wheeler, trikes and outfits welcome and all proceeds go to the Yorks Air Ambulance and Manorlands Hospice. Food and drink are available. Entry is a recession busting £3, which includes a raffle ticket. For further information call Roger Henderson on 07759 724123.
