Donington Festival celebrates Yamaha

See Yamaha’s 125cc V4 at Donington, as ridden by Bill Ivy and Phil Read

The event features the MotoGP M1, ridden by eight-time world champion Phil Read and 1977 F750 world champion Steve Baker.

The only 2012 UK appearance of the official Yamaha Classic Racing Team will see it bring along no less than 18 machines including the Ivy/Read 125cc/ 250cc V4s from 1968, 1978 750cc OW31, 1978 500cc OW45, 1986 750cc OU45, 1988 750cc OW01 and 2000 750cc OW7L.

Guest riders on track with the YCRT bikes include Steve Parrish and Jamie Whitham.

There will be a full 30 race programme over the weekend including the ACU Post Classic 350 Championship and Wheatcroft Trophy races, a display of TZ Yamahas all the way back to 1972, display stands in the paddock by the various Yamaha OC and a unique opportunity to see close up the MotoGP M1 and Yamaha Classic Racing Team machines in the paddock as well as on track.
