Back to basics – that’s the message from Old Empire Motorcycles’ proprietor Alec Sharp. Fed up with overly complicated motorcycles, Diss, Norfolk based Alec decided to build his own, in fact there will be another nine to follow. Named around olde-worlde aeronautical themes, the first batch will be Pups – after the Sopwith Pup. Essentially they are a radically altered Royal Enfield Bullet frame, with a hard tail, fitted with a lean burn Bullet engine, Amal concentric carburetter, Aprilia RS50 forks and yokes and Enfield wheels. Keep an eye on the website www.oldempiremotorcycles.co.uk and watch out for a ride on the Pup in Classic Bike Guide soon.
