Chance to join charity end-to-end run for classic BMWs

by

A group of 32 members from the BMW Airhead Fellowship (Airhead e-zine) start an ‘end to end’ run from Land’s End to John O’Groats on July 4, and they’d be delighted if anyone wanted to join them for the whole or part of the run, which is set to be completed on July 10. The whole event is set to raise vital funds for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.

Organiser Peter Ardron said: “Whether you’d like to join us for a short part of the run or whether you’d like to do the whole run makes no difference – if you’re on an older BMW then we’d love to have you come along and keep us company.

“Our accommodation is booked but if you want to take part and arrange your own B&Bs or camping that’s no problem. And for those who can’t spare the time then why not join us at the start of the section nearest you and come with us for as long as you want? We want as many BMWs on the road as we can muster.”

Peter said all riders would be able to “do their own thing in their own time” and the route had been devised using local knowledge from members.

“We avoid motorways wherever possible and don’t mind taking a circuitous route so long as it’s scenic. In fact, that’s what we usually do!” he added.

The schedule:
Each morning starts at 9.30am
July 4 – Land’s End Hotel to Bristol. Distance 209 miles
July 5 – Bristol Central Travelodge to Wirral. Distance 197 miles
July 6 – Wirral Eastham Travelodge to Whitehaven. Distance 189 miles
